Freight Broker Agent

Job Responsibities

Responsibilities:

– Develop and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers to secure freight opportunities
– Negotiate rates and contracts with carriers to ensure competitive pricing and service
– Coordinate the movement of freight, including dispatching carriers and tracking shipments
– Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly
– Utilize transportation planning software to optimize routing and maximize efficiency
– Perform data entry tasks to accurately record shipment details and maintain documentation
– Stay up-to-date with industry trends, regulations, and market conditions
– Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth operations and timely delivery

Skills:

– Strong sales skills with a proven track record in logistics sales or related field
– Excellent negotiation and communication skills to build relationships with shippers and carriers
– Knowledge of dispatching processes and ability to coordinate multiple shipments simultaneously
– Familiarity with EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) systems for seamless data exchange
– Proficient in transportation planning software for efficient routing and load optimization
– Accurate data entry skills to maintain shipment records and documentation
– Understanding of freight industry regulations, compliance, and best practices
– Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

This is commission only position; 50%-80% of profits + quarterly and end of year bonus.
